WELCOME

The League of Women Voters of Clark County is part of a national organization that was formed more than 105 years ago and is not for women only! We are proudly nonpartisan and never align ourselves with candidates or parties. Instead, we promote knowledge of the political process, celebrate political participation by citizens across the political spectrum, and encourage the necessary democratic values of rule of law, civil discourse, and respect for truth as modeled by our process for developing policy positions.

Latest episode: Citizen 411: The Charter Review Commission

Clark County is one of just a few counties in Washington state that took advantage of the Home Rule. Our Charter specifies that it is to be reviewed every five years by an elected commission.

On the August podcast, Tracy and Teresa talk about this year’s election for a new set of Commissioners in November 2025. In the Charter Review process, voters get two chances to have their say: first, when they elect their districts’ charter review commissioners, and second, when they vote on the proposed charter amendments.

About Citizen 411: From the League of Women Voters of Clark County comes “Citizen 411 –Your Information Directory for Democracy,” where the conversation aims to ensure everyone in our great democratic republic is represented and empowered, and our communities have their sights on social justice. The show is co-hosted by Teresa Torres and Tracy Reilly Kelly.
